These failures typically occur at the double cardan joint on the upper end of the shaft, next to the transfer case.

FITMENT NOTE: 2018+ models have Center Axle Disconnect (CAD), and the front driveshaft isn't "driven" unless 4WD is engaged, or the CAD system is malfunctioning. We believe the driveshaft loop is still a good idea, especially if you spend a lot of time in 4 wheel drive.

After the driveshaft or transfer case breaks free, the loose driveshaft is likely to come through the cab floor, and/or rupture nearby fuel/brake/transmission lines, causing fire in some cases.

This driveshaft loop will NOT prevent driveshaft failures BUT will protect from secondary damage in the event of a failure.

NOTE: It is still recommended to grease AND inspect your driveshaft frequently.
